There is a very famous proverb that

“To know the road ahead, ask those coming back”. – Chinese Proverb.

In my nine year of career as a placement officer, I have interacted with students, corporate professionals in regards to their placement aspirations (students) & available placement opportunities (corporate), if one thing which needs to be understood properly by job seekers is that people need a plan and process to manage their job search.

Today, due to changes in Indian economy, lots of changes are occurring. Many new Initiatives have been lunched in India since two years – Make in India, Smart Cities, Digital India, Startup India, Skill India and recently demonetization of India Currency. Lots of these initiatives have been undertaken to focus towards reviving and scaling various aspects of economy.

We have seen the turbulent phase of Indian economy as well in 2008 and post recession afterwards. There are no fixed corporate sectors which assure the certainty and stability in corporate world. Therefore, it is essential for a person who wants to get hire in business organization; he/she should have a systematic plan, focused mindset, motivation to face the failures, & consistency in their approach to connect with recruiters. A job seeker before thinking about the required attributes to be placed in any organization, they should spend time to know about themselves, prepare a systematic career action plan, connect with right kind of people, interact and take their regular guidance to keep themselves updated and finally get hired in the desired organization.

Thus, as many research and corporate advice suggests that these are the following most effective ways to get hire in business organization:-

• Prepare a concise and neat resume – A resume should be short description cover the areas of experience, academic credentials, expertise in skills and personal details.

• Presentable stuff on social media tools like Linkedin, twitter etc. – It is essential to use the social media tools effectively and not to put any remarks/comments which is controversy in nature or biased views.

• Networking with people who may guide you or help you to be successful in your journey – The world is full likeminded and intellect. Remember, that your struggle and aspirations towards your future is not unique. You are just following the footsteps of many people who have worked hard and became successful. Identify those groups of people and connect with them.

• Be positive and confident on your skills and upgrade on regular basis – “Sharpen your skills” till the time you achieve the desirable results.

• Be update with current affairs and know about current trends in the market. – You should be updated with current changes, opportunities, trends which is happening in business world and link with it your skills and knowledge.

If these things follow systematically, irrespective of your background, career interest, you will be hired by the organization.
